To his core, Tim Combs is attracted to making use of what has been discarded by others. This practice has become for him a type of meditative reflection that has not only helped in understanding himself, but has connected him with others for the sake of teaching about reducing waste.
Because items that have been cast away are often free, Tim is able to gather supplies for social purposes like teaching art classes with deaf students, organizing sustainability classes, community cleanups, homeless awareness, and various art shows.
Tim is certainly an artist and he uses the medium as a node for communication of this meaning of sustainability and intention. So obviously we’re pleased to have him in Seventy Seven for the month of August!
